Teaching a Little One to Pray

One of the best gifts you can give a child is the sense that God is close enough to talk to.

Not a lecture about prayer. Not a speech to memorize. Just the settled, simple knowing that they can talk to God anytime, and He listens.

Jesus made room for the little ones on purpose:

“Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14, BSB)

Children don’t need big words to pray. They need someone to show them it’s normal — to pray at bedtime, over a scraped knee, when they’re scared of the dark. Little prayers, prayed often, become a lifelong habit of leaning on God.

That’s why we made the Lightkeeper Kids books. Each one follows a child learning to talk to God in everyday moments, in words a little one can follow and a grown-up can happily read out loud.
